Static Gap Analysis
The static gap analysis tool conducts a gap analysis of a list of taxonomic names. Names are queried in local copies of the Catalogue of Life, the Global Genome Biodiversity Network, and the NCBI GenBank database. These results are compared to a list of known specimens in GGBN partner institutions (that have not yet been made available on GGBN), and taxa are assigned a GGI priority level for acquisition of tissue samples and DNA barcoding.
Inventory lists updated on 01 September 2016.
Copy and paste a list of taxonomic names into the box below.
Rules for name entry:
- List of names may be comprised of mixed taxonomic levels.
- Taxonomic levels supported: kingdom, phylum/division, class, order, family, genus. No other taxonomic levels (species, superfamily, infraorder, etc.) are supported at this time. Searching an unsupported taxonomic level may yield inaccurate results.
- Live search is limited to 1500 names or fewer. Longer lists will be truncated to the first 1500 names. To search more than 1500 names, run multiple searches.
