Live Gap Analysis
This tool assists in conducting a gap analysis of a list of taxonomic names. This tool - the Live tool - queries the Catalog of Life, the Global Genome Biodiversity Network, and the NCBI GenBank database in real time, returning the most current results from each database. These results are compared to a static list of samples known to exist in GGBN partner institutions (that have not yet been made available on GGBN), and a GGI priority level is set for both the collection of these samples and the need for DNA barcoding.
Copy and paste a list of taxonomic names into the box below.
Rules for name entry:
- List of names may be comprised of mixed taxonomic levels.
- Taxonomic levels supported: kingdom, phylum/division, class, order, family, genus. No other taxonomic levels (species, superfamily, infraorder, etc.) are supported at this time. Searching an unsupported taxonomic level may yield inaccurate results.
- Live search is limited to 25 names or fewer. Longer lists will be truncated to the first 25 names. To search more than 25 names, run multiple searches.
